Ashley found this awesome drawing that sums up the Blogging World in the best way possible. If you’re a blogger, or enjoy reading blogs, then you’ll understand the bizarre layout of this photo. The drawing belongs to Randall Moore at xkcd.com.
Bill Mitchell created yet another brilliant cartoon. This time, it’s current (and soon to be former in about half an hour) New York State Governor Elliot Spitzer. If you haven’t heard the new, he’s resigning in the midst of allegations of paying for the transportation of a prostitute to see him, and a bunch of other allegations. The cartoon that Bill draws up about the entire situation is brilliant, and I’d like to share it with all of you. Enjoy!
If you missed the actual resignation, I’ve got that for you too. Ready? Set? Go!
I wonder what ‘Client 9’ did with “Kristen” for all that money?
So, now that Spitzer is stepping down by March 17th, you’d think this is all over, right? No way! The American Media would never let that happen! It turns out, that Spitzer’s “call girl” has been identified as Ashley Alexandra Dupre. Was it completely necessary to ‘out’ the girl Spitzer was caught hiring via wiretap? No, I don’t think so. I actually feel terrible for all of the women involved in this whole ‘saga. I feel terrible for Spitzer’s daughters, wife, and entire family. I also feel bad for Ms. Dupre for all of the negative exposure she’s getting.
*sigh*… Such is the American Media. Or, just Media, in general…
I’m a registered Democrat, but I’m not a fan of Barack Obama or Hillary Clinton… yet. Neither candidate has given me that tingly “I want him/her to be president” feeling. But one thing I appreciate, is the amount of comedic imagery that comes out of elections like these. There’s bound to be photoshop gurus out there who love to create parody images of candidates, as well as just plain creative people who love to put together a good joke. I’ve found two photos that I want to share with all of you, that I think sum up just how funny election time can be. But remember, I’m not a fan of either candidate, so posting these photos is not tied to my own opinions at all. Although, I’d love to hear what you think about them. Enjoy!
Consolidated Edison is New York City’s electricity provider, and has been for many years. They’re also known for ‘to-the-point’ advertising, with campaigns like their recent “On It” posters and banners. Recently, on the subway, I ran across a new brand of Con Ed advertisements. The current advertising campaigns include tips on how to save money off of your electric bill (despite Con Ed raising their rates because they started to use a new paper size for the bills… yeah… I know). While I was looking at all of the advertisements, I came across this little section of a banner:
Let’s break this down, shall we?
– If you lose power, you can call the phone number above from your cell phone, and your land line. But, if you have an internet phone without the land line (don’t laugh, some people are in that scenario), you’re pretty much screwed. You’ll have to borrow someone’s cell phone, or call Con Ed from work, right? That’s lame.
– If you lose power, you can log on to the website above… no, wait… you can’t! Why? Because you have no power! Way to go, Con Ed!
So what do you think about that advertisement? You know what I think? I think all of this electric nonsense makes me hungry for some Zen. It’s not Con Ed, but let’s give it up to the Electric Company!
Photo Time is a new column here on the blog, highlighting interesting photos from across the internet. Since this is the first installment of many to come, I thought I would explain how it works. First, I’ll post a photo that was either sent to me or found while browsing the web. Finally, I open up the discussion of the photo to you, leaving comments and your thoughts on the photo. So, without any further interruptions, I give you… Photo Time!
Discuss!
While you’re discussing, take another look at the photo for a second. Doesn’t it make you wanna do this?
